Jessie Dupont

Maitre de langue de néerlandais

I come from the North of Belgium (Vlaanderen) and I teach Dutch at the university. Dutch and Flemish are the same language (except the accent and some vocabulary) and are spoken in the Netherlands and in the North of Belgium. I studied Spanish and Dutch literature and linguistics and did a Masters in general linguistics at the University of Antwerp (2006-2011). I also obtained a Masters in Cooperation and International Development at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (2010-2103) and a Teachers Education at the Free University of Brussels (2013-2014).

During my studies I participated in the Erasmus program and studied a semester at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain (2008) and at the Universidad de Jaén, Spain (2012). I also did a three-month internship with an NGO in Bamako, Mali (2011).

Since 2013, I worked full-time as a language teacher in Brussels in a school for adult learners. Here I taught levels A1-B2 to people from all different nationalities and backgrounds. I stayed in this wonderful school for three years and left in august 2016 to start a new job working at the University of Debrecen, Hungary. I worked one year in Debrecen where I taught levels A1-C1. Since September 2017, I work at the University of Strasbourg.
